Aims and Objective of the Institute :
These are the following aims and objectives of the institute.
- To provide education and skill training to persons with various disabilities as defined in the National Trust Act,1999 for Welfare of Persons with Autism, cerebral palsy, Mental Retardation and Multiple disabilities, and to enable them to be self dependent;
- To provide residential services to persons with mental retardation belonging to far off areas to help them to nurture their abilities and to achieve rehabilitation;
- To empower parents and family members and to involve them as co-therapists to carry out training programme of persons with mental retardation and associated disabilities;
- To provide early stimulation and intervention training to persons with Mental Retardation and associated disabilities in the age group of 0-5 years and to help them to achieve speedy development;
- To provide vocational training to Persons with Mental Retardation and associated disabilities to enable them to achieve self dependence;
- To develop effective models of Home based training programme suited to the needs of persons with Mental Retardation and associated disabilities;
- To run outreach programme to for them.
- To develop human resources in the field of Disability Rehabilitation & Special Education to provide specialized services to persons with special needs;
- To organize short term courses/conferences/seminars/ workshops and update the skills and knowledge of professionals working in the field.
- To conduct research in the field of Mental Retardation and associated disabilities.
